Superior American Mat Company:

Serving Product Easily

Floor runners have traditionally been a challenge for home centers to sell because consumers have needed a sales clerk to measure and cut the product. Inaccurate cuts caused waste and lost revenue for the store and manufacturer.

Superior American Mat Company had the perfect solution: floor runners that were perforated at one-foot intervals with patented leak-proof perfs. This allowed consumers to measure and separate the length they need, without cutting tools or sales help.

We created a tri-lingual interleaf-style labeling system that helped the consumer choose the right product. Each interleaf label also provided UPCs for easy checkout.

We also designed two display headers for retailers to choose from: one for upscale positioning and one with step-by-step instructions for the self-service floor runners.

Consumers can now get to check out in three easy steps.

 

Deliverables:

Display Headers – We created two display headers: a general upscale version and the Easy Serve version. The primary goal of the Easy Serve header was to inform buyers how to count the number of feet needed, tear off, and purchase. We used detailed photography to related the steps.

Interleaf Slip Sheets – The slip sheets served multiple purposes including, listing product benefits in three languages, clearly stating product usage, and preventing the product from sticking to itself.

Photography – Simple and direct photography was used to convey the steps to buying the product.

Multi-language Translation – After outlining key benefits and writing copy , we managed tri-lingual translations.
